BCS FAQ's

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Q. Can BCS provide replacement parts for my Electrospace Systems(ESI) antenna control system?
  • A. Yes, in most cases.  BCS can provide repair, replacement, upgrade, and spares for the 93C-23 and 83MC-4/5/6 series antenna control system components.  Please contact BCS by phone or email with your specific requirements.

  • Q. Does BCS support control system brands other than BCS or ESI?
  • Yes.  BCS is equipped and experienced with most other leading brands of antenna control system equipment by manufactures such as Vertex/RSI, Scientific Atlanta, Andrew Corp., and RCI just to name a few.  Please contact BCS by phone or email with your specific requirements.

  • Q. Why does the ACU angular position display jump "out of sequence" when driving the antenna from one pointing position to another?
  • A. Either the position encoder/s are wired incorrectly, or the CAM switches inside the encoder housing have gone bad or are out of alignment.

  • Q. Why does the ACU seem to "lock up", or quit reporting?
  • A. The most likely cause is incorrect data is being sent to the ACU through the M&C port.  Additionally, M&C port polling should not occur more frequently than once per second to guarantee reliable ACU operation.
